August 16, 2020Several months ago author Helen Knowles contacted us seeking help in locating archival information and images that she could use for her book.
The book has been written, Cascadian Hotel, Images of America and will be available from Amazon on Monday.

Western Hotels managed the hotel from 1945 to 1962. Willard Abel was the first WH manager and Bill Bryant the last. Other WH folks pictured or mentioned are Frank Dupar, Severt Thurston, Edward Carlson, Gena Tucker, Harry Mullikin, Robert Dupar, Larry May, Willard Abel and Thomas Dupar, Sr.
The book pictures Miss Western Hotels 1959, Diane Ulrich, chosen from a field of "36 women representing their respective hotels". Ms. Ulrich also represented WH at the 1962 World's Fair.
