  Thanks to the foresight of C.R. "Bob" Lindquist and William D. "Bill" Ellis who thought it important to keep track of and stay in touch with those retiring or otherwise leaving Westin we have WAA. Early on Larry Dustin was enlisted to provide a typed list which he later expanded into a database. For many years Larry and wife Penny took responsibility for copying, collating and mailing copies of this database to fellow alums around the world.
  
  The Westin Alumni Association (WAA) was established in 1990, and is dedicated only to maintaining an accurate database of former Westin colleagues who meet a membership criteria as mentioned under "eligibility" as a means for "friends to keep in touch with friends".
  
  Over those 35 years Larry Dustin has maintained the vital database and William D. "Bill" Ellis managed the association's finances for its first 27 years.
  
  WAA's first president was Bill Keithan, followed by Pat Carey, Chuck Comstock, Bill Keithan, Russ Nickel and Larry Dustin.
  
  The first website was published In 2005 by Ray Sylvester who acts as administrator. In 2006 the first global reunion was held at the Westin Bellevue, Washington.
  Subsequent Global reunions were held in Las Vegas in 2016 and 2019---75-80 attended each.
  At the Westin global reunion held in Las Vegas in 2019 Penny and Larry Dustin were acknowledged for their 30 year leadership contributions, and for their continuous management of the member database.
  In 2018, and Michael Horrocks became treasurer following Bill Ellis' 27 years with WAA. Eligibility requirements were altered in April of that year.
  In April 2025, after thirty-five years, a sunset plan for the association was developed and the current board dissolved.
